Senior students have the opportunity to participate in School Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships (SATs).
Apprenticeships and traineeships combine training with working in a real job, for a real boss with a real wage while learning skills at work. School-based apprenticeships and traineeships (SATs) allow school students to work for an employer and undertake training towards a qualification, whilst completing their Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) or ATAR.
All traineeship vacancies are displayed in the Resource Centre.
School-based apprenticeships and traineeships allow students, Years 10, 11 and 12, to study for their Senior Certificate, while at the same time undertaking government approved and accredited training qualifications as paid employees.
Please note: You and your employer must seek permission and support from your school before starting a school-based apprenticeship or traineeship.
ALSO: PARENTS SHOULD BE AWARE THAT STUDENTS IN YEAR 10 WILL REMAIN ON A FULL SCHOOL TIMETABLE WITH THE ADDITIONAL WORKLOAD FROM TRAINEESHIPS/APPRENTICESHIPS OR TAFE.
