  • Eligible students from a non-English speaking background are provided with additional English language support, based on their level of English fluency.

  • At Keebra Park, we have a dedicated faculty for the teaching of English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EALD). Intensive English classes are taught in modern, air conditioned classrooms close to the International Student office.

  • Each year Keebra Park teaches English to a large number of students from many different language backgrounds. This gives our high school a unique, multi-cultural student population and a friendly, welcoming quality.

  • The teachers in the EALD department are highly qualified and experienced, offering expert English tuition and support, including;

  • Intensive English courses for Beginner, Post Beginner, Pre-Intermediate and Intermediate speakers of English.

  • In class support in core mainstream subjects of English, Maths and Science

  • In Year 11 and 12, we offer a QLD Curriculum and Assesment Authority Subject, English for ESL Learners, which enables students seeking university entrance to study the English curriculum with specialised support.

  • We are proud to offer an outstanding level of English language teaching for International students of all fluency levels.

Keebra Park State High school is in the process of building a firm rapport with the wider community. We are always looking for volunteers to help students improve their literacy skills.

A volunteer will work closely with the students in groups or on a one-to-one basis in classrooms providing help with writing, speaking, listening and reading.

As a volunteer you can choose to work in different areas, depending on your interest, skills and availability.
