Students make dreammakers in art

The Visual Arts block at Keebra Park is such a visually stimulating environment. Some amazing student artworks are on display and it is always a busy and productive place. At present, Ms Pike, Ms Robertson and Ms Magey are joined by Pre-service teachers Karen Mudge and Jezzica Wilson whose enthusiasm for teaching and learning is motivating for all. We are fortunate to have these ladies working with our students and sharing their artworks and ideas with us. Some Year 12 Visual Arts Studies students are experimenting with painting techniques, in particular Scraffito, whilst others are creating mixed media pieces inspired by organic forms. Students will display these as a part of their Ceramics assessment unit which demonstrates their knowledge of designing, creating and decorating hand built clay items. The materials for our ‘Dream Catchers’ have been sourced from the local environment and our seniors have enjoyed the very tactile nature of this unit. These works, along with the Year 10 “Cubist Selfies” are sure to be a highlight of our Art Show later in the year.
