Year 9 students ventured to Southern Cross University to experience the UNI-BOUND program. Splitting into five electives; Occupational Therapy, Exercise Science, Midwifery, Maths and Law. The students developed their skills in decision making, team work and critical thinking. Within their electives their learnt the industry basics.

Nemika attended Midwifery, “we delivered a baby and it moved like real life, babies are much heavier than they look!”

Within the Occupational Therapy elective students learnt to understand the many people who require assistance in life, testing out their one armed skills, “it’s pretty hard to make a spaghetti and cheese sandwich with one hand!” noted Riley.

Miles attended the law session, “in Missouri it is illegal to slurp, and we learnt that legally it’s okay to eat someone if the person is already dead and you have no other choice.”

After their electives and a shared lunch with other schools, students came together and participated in a careers presentation to help them think about their futures.

Students asked lots of questions about university and received guidance from specialists making the day a success.
