Rear Admiral visits Keebra Park

On Friday July 21st, Keebra welcomed one of its Alumni back to visit his old school.

Rear Admiral Michael Noonan is Vice Chief of Navy. He graduated from Keebra Park State High School in 1983.

At a whole school assembly on Friday, Admiral Noonan told the students of his experiences, how he ended up in the Navy, and the amazing experiences he has had there.

A very engaging speaker, he kept the whole school’s attention for the best part of an hour! He then held a Question and Answer session with some students interested in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics subjects, and careers in the military.

We followed with a tour of the school- he was particularly keen on seeing how technical drawing had developed into Graphics and the effect of Computer Aided Design on his favourite subject.

We concluded with a morning tea for all staff.

The feeling was that both the school, and the Admiral had experienced a lot of positives from the visit- we look forward to seeing him again.
