Ekka performances

Congratulations to the Concert Band and Vocal Group on an outstanding performance in the Brisbane City Bands Festival. Our school received an Honours Award with excellent comments from the adjudicator.

Our performing ensembles also travelled up to the EKKA where they gave a great performance and had a fabulous time enjoying the sights and sounds of the show. Results of this competition should arrive soon – stay tuned.

Earlier this term, 20 of our most talented music students attended Griffith University where they spent the day recording their performances in the recording studios. They gained an insight into the Popular Music degree offered by the University and a professionally mixed recording on CD to keep.

An exciting development in our extra-curricular groups is the forming of a Stage Band. The Stage Band will rehearse on Tuesdays at lunch time with our Instrumental Music Teacher Mr Tony Paye. Membership is by invitation only.

Also, we have been very happy to welcome Mr King Jin, an ex-student of Keebra Park, who has come to Keebra to complete his practicum and internship for a degree in music teaching.

Good luck to the Concert Band, who will be representing our school at the Gold Coast Eisteddfod later this week. The band has worked extremely hard to prepare some very challenging repertoire, as well as our favourites – “Man in the Mirror” and “Roar”.
