140 International students visit Keebra Park

Japanese Study Visit

We hosted the annual visit from Takanawa High School last month which saw 140 students spend the day with us.  They were divided into seven groups and working with Keebra buddies participated in activities including boomerang painting, a wildlife show, Aussie Sports, conversational English, Japanese crafts and games and two classes of science experiments.  For lunch, they tried Australian lamingtons and meat pies.  Thank you to the teachers who assisted; Ms Taylor, Mr King, Mr Ali, Ms Sheather, Ms Bourne and Ms McNicol as well as numerous pre-service teachers and International staff, Casey, Paije, Linda and Indi.

Congratulations Katja

Katja Heberer has been named as International Student of the Year at the Annual Awards Evening.  Katja is from Germany and has been studying at Keebra Park this semester.  As well as excelling academically, she has been an active participant in all activities and is the lead trumpet player in the Keebra Band.  It was a very difficult choice with many excellent International students this year, but Katja is a worthy recipient of the award.
