NAPLAN Information Session

For all parents and carers of students in grade 7 & 9

When – Wednesday 15th February

Time - 3:30-4:30

Venue – The  Junior Secondary Block

During the session you will be given information regarding the 3 days of testing, you will also be able to look at past papers across all areas of NAPLAN testing. Furthermore you will also be able to collect free NAPLAN style practice papers (with the answers) to support your child to prepare for the test.

Furthermore you will also be able to discuss any concerns that you may have regarding your child’s ability to sit the tests.

For some students this opportunity is fully embraced, because it’s a wonderful chance to shine, students are measured across their cohort, across the state and across the country. Our Academic Excellence students are gearing up for the challenge, who will rise to the top! For students who are not currently on the program this can be an opportunity to demonstrate why they should be considered for a place in the Academic Excellence Program.

For some students from our brightest to our lower performing students NAPLAN can be a source of anxiety and concern, rest assured that we are working hard with all of our students to best prepare them for these National Tests. We hope to alleviate any concerns that you might have during the information session.  Our students have a lot to gain from sitting the tests because teachers are able to access the results to target the gaps in your child’s education. That said, we appreciate that there are some circumstances when this range of testing is not suitable, we look forward to discussing your concerns during the session on Wednesday 15th February.

Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
