Jeff wins Peter Doherty award

Outstanding student scientist Jeff Barrett has been named as a Peter Doherty Science Student award winner and for his efforts collects $3000 and a great deal of kudos. Jeff has been very involved in a plethora of Science projects, including a number of CSIRO Crest projects. These projects were of such an outstanding quality that he was a BHP Science Competition finalist in years 9 and 10, a feat he is hoping to achieve again this year. Jeff displays research capabilities far beyond his years. Last year he was recognised again with a second place in the Stockholm Junior Water Prize and is now undertaking research which will be submitted for a Gold Crest, the BHP Science Awards and the Stockholm Junior Water Prize. Jeff is currently achieving at the top of the VHA band for Physics, Chemistry and Biology and has always dominated the Keebra Park Academic Awards for subject prizes in Science and Maths. He is clearly an exceptional Science student who also takes time to help fellow students and staff alike which displays a highly personable and charitable side of his personality.
