2016 Trip to South East Asia Trip

15/02/2016
Planning for our trip to Vietnam during the September holidays is under way.

The opportunity is open to students in Years 10X, 11 and 12 in 2016 and can be extended to other Year 10’s if places are available.  Much interest was expressed at our information night on Wednesday.

Our 2014 trip was an outstanding success, with students experiencing amazing sites, food and culture.

Students can still collect a proposed itinerary and an expression of interest form from Mrs Lucas in the Maths Staffroom or you can email a request at mluca7@eq.edu.au

Students studying Geography and History will be given first preference, but that does not preclude other students, especially Year 11 and 12 students.  The 14 day 2014 trip cost the students just under $2 700 ALL INCLUSIVE (flights, all accommodation, all meals, entry to venues, etc.).  Other expenses that are the responsibility of students (parents) include the cost of passports, inoculations, clothing, etc. and spending money for souvenirs and those clothes, handbags and shoes at the markets that were very popular with the last group!!

Just a sample of our proposed itinerary:

Day 4     Assist at a fantastic community development project outside Hanoi

Day 5      Enjoy Vietnam’s world famous Ha Long Bay on an overnight cruise!

Day 6      Visit Sung Sot Cave and travel on an overnight train to Hue City!

Day 7      Explore Hue’s Forbidden City, Thien Mu Pagoda & impressive palaces

Day 8      Travel by bus to Da Nang and further to Hoi An.  Enjoy the World Heritage listed trade port of Hoi An old town.  Have clothes tailor-made!

Day 10    Explore the beauty of the marine environment around Cham Island
