Keebra CSI

Keebra Park Students host Keebra CSI

Thursday 13th March saw students from the Year 9 Academic Excellence Program host over 60 students in an investigation targeting academic excellence at Keebra Park SHS.  Students from Ashmore and Southport primary schools worked in conjunction with our students to undertake a crime scene investigation.

CSI Keebra is a mock crime scenario designed so that students can actually become a Forensic Scientist for the day and try to solve the case of: Who done in the deputy.  The police had taken six suspects into custody and collected evidence from the crime scene. The clues found at the crime scene then reveal which of the suspects murdered School Deputy Principal Mr Cameron Murray.

During the course of the day, competing teams conducted a variety of science experiments and interpreted the data to solve each of the evidentiary clues and report to the Keebra Coroner. These clues ranged from Footprints, DNA, blood typing, ink chromatography, soil testing, blood spatter, to fabric analysis and substantiating alibis. Each team ably guided by their leaders then used the Coroners report to expose the real criminal before presenting their Murder Casebook to the Keebra Chief Prosecutor.
