OVERVIEW OF THE SCHOOL

Keebra Park SHS opened in 1973 and has well established traditions in the community. It is situated in a leafy campus which is 14.9 hectares in area. 700 students are currently enrolled in the school and are drawn from many different primary and secondary schools. Special programs include Plus Pathway, Sports Specialisation, an English as a Second Language Unit, International Student Program, participation in local, state and national competitions in a range of arenas.
Information Technology is a major focus in the school and is embedded in learning.
There is an emphatic focus on academic achievement and achieving personal best performance across all aspects of school life. The curriculum for the Middle Phase of Learning (Years 8 & 9) is organised around the eight Key Learning Areas with major focus on literacy and numeracy. The Senior Phase of Learning (Years 10, 11 & 12) offers a very wide range of subjects . The curriculum is organised around Pathways which allows young people to follow an Academic Pathway to University or a Vocational Pathway to employment or further training. School based Traineeships and Apprenticeships are encouraged and supported by the school.
The school community is proud of the safe and caring environment it provides for our students. Staff are very committed to providing a range of curricular and additional activities to encourage our students to experience success and enjoyment from participation.
The school is committed to improving learning outcomes for all students and providing opportunities which will prepare its young people for life after school. This is achieved through partnerships with parents, students and the wider community.
