YEAR
10
Year 10 is the first year of the Senior Phase of Learning. By this time, having experiencedthe Middle Phase of Learning (Years 8 & 9), students should have a general idea of what they are good at and what they like. It is important for students and parents to consider the inclusion of certain subjects in the Yr 10 course. For example, failure to elect Science in Year 10 means that it cannot be selected in Years 11 and 12. Experience in Yr 10 subjects like Graphics, Manufacturing, the Arts and Home Economics tend to be catalysts for success in Years 11 and 12, however it is not necessary to select them in Yr 10 to select them in Yr 12. Year 10 students should be very conscious for the need to achieve well in Yr 10 Maths should Maths B or C be desirable in Yrs 11 and 12. The same is appropriate for English and Science.
